Manual Wireless Indoor Siren
The Hozard Wireless Indoor Siren (HWSS-1) is a wireless siren with a strobe light. You can use it as a wireless alarm siren with an alarm system or as a standalone alarm system. When a detector in the system is triggered, the siren immediately sounds a loud alarm and flashes to deter intruders.
The product
The system is wireless and easy to install. You can pair several wireless detectors with it, such as door sensors, PIR motion sensors and smoke detectors. You arm and disarm the system with a remote control.
Features
- Compact size with a unique design
- Loud alarm with strobe light
- Pair up to 50 wireless sensors and remote controls
- EV1527 coding (220K-470K)
- Built-in lithium battery, more than 8 hours of standby
- Suitable for a wide voltage range (AC 100-240V)
Buttons and light
- The SET button: use it to put the siren into pairing mode and to delete all paired accessories.
- The light (warning light): the steps below explain what it means when it is lit or flashing.
- The battery switch with the positions "ON" and "OFF": located on the back of the siren.
Installation
Connecting mains power
The siren has no on/off switch for mains power. As soon as you connect the adapter, the light flashes once and the device turns on. The battery then starts charging automatically.
Battery power
The battery switch is on the back of the siren. During a power cut, set the switch to "ON" to use the battery. The light then flashes once. Set the switch to "OFF" to turn off the battery.
Pairing
The siren works in two ways: as the wireless siren of an alarm system, or as a standalone alarm system with its own wireless sensors and remote controls.
As a wireless siren: pairing with the alarm host
First connect the device to an alarm system. When the siren works as an alarm siren and an alarm is triggered, it sounds a loud alarm and flashes its strobe light.
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds until the siren gives a short beep ("di") and the warning light stays on. The siren is now in pairing mode.
- Then press the SOS button on the alarm host.
- If you hear a long beep ("di") and the light flashes once quickly, pairing was successful.
If you hear three short beeps ("di-di-di") and the light flashes three times, the code has already been paired (duplicate code).
If you do nothing for more than 20 seconds, the siren leaves pairing mode automatically.
Testing with the alarm host
Press the SOS button on the alarm host. The siren should sound and flash. This confirms that pairing was successful.
As a standalone alarm system: pairing wireless accessories
When the siren is paired with wireless sensors, it works as a standalone alarm system. When the system is armed and an alarm is triggered, the siren sounds and flashes.
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds until you hear a short beep and the light stays on. The siren is now in pairing mode.
- Then trigger a remote control or sensor.
- If you hear a long beep and see one flash, pairing was successful.
Three short beeps and three flashes mean the code already exists.
After 20 seconds without activity, the siren leaves pairing mode automatically.
Testing with the remote control or a sensor
Press the arm button on the remote control. A short beep means pairing was successful.
You can also trigger a sensor while the system is armed. If the siren sounds, pairing has worked.
Deleting all wireless accessories
Press and hold the SET button for 10 seconds until you hear "di-di-di" three times and the light flashes three times. All accessories are now deleted and the siren is also unpaired from the alarm host.
Operation and settings
Using the remote control
With the remote control you can quickly arm the system, partially arm it (home mode), disarm it or trigger an emergency alarm.
| Button | What you hear | What you see | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arm | Sound: one short beep | Light flashes once quickly (then every 30 sec) | Alarm on motion or opening |
| Home arm | Sound: one short beep | Visual: one flash (then every 30 sec) | Result: alarm only on door/window |
| Disarm | Sound: two short beeps | Visual: two flashes | Result: alarm off |
| SOS | Sound: alarm signal | Visual: continuous flashing |
